My Story

  • I'm Rob Wegner. My official title is Pastor of Life Mission at Granger Community Church. My role is to help people get out of their seat and get into God's story, especially outside the four walls of the church building. I spend my time teaching, building teams and creating opportunties to mobilize people so that "up there" comes "down here." I love forging partnerships in our community and around the world to get that done. We're dreaming huge dreams about slaying the giants of our time - things like spiritual lostness, poverty, sickness, injustice, illiteracy...you get the idea. I get to do what I'm passionate about.

Defending Scripture

Here's another quote on Scripture that I return to often, especially when studying for a message.

Somebody asked Charles Spurgeon one time -- I love this -- they asked Spurgeon, "How do you defend Scripture?" His response was, "The same way you defend a lion. You just let it loose."

Prayer Request: The pace since Spring Break has been relentless and I hit a wall today.  I'm feeling more like a tired street cat tonight. I'm doing final prep tomorrow on a message for our New Community.  This message comes from the core of my life message.  Pray that Lion is unleashed through my weakness.  Thanks.

Speaking of Lion's unleashed, Pastor Mark was on fire today while filming his message for ONE prayer.  Check out DC's notes.   Download papa_b_one_prayer_message_may_7_2008.docx

You know when we are weak He is most definitely strong. . .let the Lion out of the cage! You are in my prayers. Thanks for all you do.

Praying for you...knowing that God will speak His strength through your weakness!

Dear Rob,
Wow! Were you on fire with the Holy Spirit last night, or what? We brought a 22 year old, soon to graduate UND with us! She loved it! She was so impressed with how you spoke right to her! She is looking into wired churches in St. Paul, Minn/MN and is coming back Saturday evening with her sister to the service! God is so good. Also, women's retreat was exactly what was needed. I think each of the women there felt Divinely called and blessed. The fire is catching and burning! Go God!
May you be richly blessed in His Word!
