My Story

  • I'm Rob Wegner. My official title is Pastor of Life Mission at Granger Community Church. My role is to help people get out of their seat and get into God's story, especially outside the four walls of the church building. I spend my time teaching, building teams and creating opportunties to mobilize people so that "up there" comes "down here." I love forging partnerships in our community and around the world to get that done. We're dreaming huge dreams about slaying the giants of our time - things like spiritual lostness, poverty, sickness, injustice, illiteracy...you get the idea. I get to do what I'm passionate about.

Boot Lake and Frogs on a Pier

The weather today is perfect, so we headed out to one of our little getaways, Boot Lake Nature Preserve.  At the end of one of the trails, is a pier we like to hang out on.  Today, we discovered that the frogs like to perch on top of the legs that hold up the pier and soak in the sun.   Their camouflage is amazing! When these guys curl up and tuck in their legs, they look like little pieces of granite.  Unless you get right up next to them, it looks like someone dropped a series of stones on top of the ledge.

Whit was looking at one up close, it jumped at her, and stuck on her face!   Unlike most gals, Whit loved it!   Another jumped on Maddie and stuck to her stomach.   I only had my phone with me, but I got a few pics.  We also found a beaver's den.  Belle said,"Dad, this is the first time I got to go to a real beaver's house!" Good times.
